Respite care
Looking after someone you love is hard work. Respite care gives you a proper break while we look after them at home.
What is respite care?
Respite care, sometimes called replacement care, steps in while a family carer takes time off. That might be a few hours to see friends, a weekend away, a holiday, or time to recover if you’re unwell yourself.
Your relative stays at home, with their own routine, and a carer from our team looks after them just as you would. Taking a break isn’t selfish. It helps you carry on caring without burning out.
We can plan respite well in advance, and we’ll do our best to help at short notice when something unexpected comes up.
