A carer who lives with you in your own home, so there’s always someone there to help, day and night.
What is live-in care?
With live-in care, a trained carer moves into your home and is there whenever you need them. For many people it’s an alternative to moving into a care home. You keep your own front door, your routines, your neighbours, and often your pets too.
Your live-in carer helps with whatever is needed through the day, from getting up and dressed to meals, housework and outings, and is on hand overnight. Just as important, they’re company. Over time, many families tell us their carer feels like part of the household.
